When you contact us through this website, by email or by telephone, we collect the information you choose to give us, typically your name, telephone number, email address and a description of your legal matter. We do not collect personal information from this website by any other means.

How we use it

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, to determine whether we are able to act for you, to check for conflicts of interest, and, if you retain us, to provide legal services and to administer your file. We do not sell your information and we do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Confidentiality

Communications with our lawyers in the course of a solicitor-client relationship are privileged. However, an initial enquiry sent through this website is not privileged and does not itself create a solicitor-client relationship. Please do not send sensitive or confidential material until we have confirmed in writing that we can act for you.

Retention and security

We keep client records for as long as required by the Law Society of Alberta and applicable legislation, and we apply reasonable administrative, physical and technical safeguards to protect them. Information transmitted over the internet can never be guaranteed to be completely secure; if a matter is sensitive, please telephone us.

Your choices

You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Write to reception@guardian.law or call 587-315-1118 and we will respond within a reasonable time.
