- What is the difference between a notary and a commissioner?
- A commissioner for oaths takes affidavits and statutory declarations for use in the province. A notary public can also certify copies and notarize documents for use outside the province or country.
- Do I need an appointment?
- Call ahead so we can confirm a lawyer or commissioner is available, especially for documents going abroad.
- Can you notarize a document I already signed?
- Generally no. The signature normally has to be made in front of the notary or commissioner.
